Slavonic ethno-band "Vedan Kolod" was created in a February 2005 in  Siberia, Russia by Tatyana Naryshkina. In July of 2005 “Vedan Kolod” won the prize as the best Russian folk band in the International World Music Festival “Ustuu-Huree”.

Vedan Kolod  is a self-described "neo pagan folk" and “medieval folk” band based in Siberia, Russia and whose members are Russian people whose ancestors left European part of Russia many centuries ago and saved their language and music in deep forests of Siberian mountains. Their traditional music takes on the form of various territories routes of Ancient Russia, from different villages in Siberia.

 

They sing in ancient Russian language and play gusli, mouth harp (vargan), Russian hurdy, Slavic bagpipes, flutes of all kinds, various Slavic war drums, percussion instruments, okarina, Scythian horn, sharkuncy and other, - restored and reconstructed by their musical master, Valerii Naryshkin, and Siberian ethnic influences – throat singing.

 

Vedan Kolod has wide experience of concerts in Russia and Europe.

Vedan Kolod had performance on different places: music clubs, music hall, open-air stages, theatre stages, street performances. Group has two programms: medieval music of Russia and pagan folk music.

We released three albums in CD-format (“Tribes” 2005, “The dance of the wood spirits” 2007 and “Wolf’s path” 2008).

It is real Slavic shamanic music. Vedan Kolod – is only the one band which shows Russian pagan and Medieval music with World music themes.
